We recommend that items are removed in areas of construction. The Farha HomeTrends team will assist with large home furnishings and appliances. We take extreme precautions to protect belongings during construction. This includes covering floors with Ram board or carpet shield, plastic sheeting on furniture, covering entrances into the construction site with plastic to seal off from the rest of the house, using dust mats, covering return air filters, cleaning up daily, and using air scrubbers to help with dust particles. If you have valuable items in your home that are not in the construction site, but you feel may be at risk we recommend securing and/or removing these items.
Please communicate any changes as soon as possible. We will discuss how they may affect the timeline and budget and create a change order for approval.
A change order is an additional contract created and presented to the customer for approval when the scope of the work changes due to unforeseen circumstances or client request.
It is important to Farha HomeTrends that we are as transparent as possible with the customer. We will inform customers immediately if there are delays in the production schedule and maintain communication on how this will affect the timeline and/or total cost. If a change order is required, we will create and present to the customer for approval.
Working hours are typically Monday – Friday from 8:00 – 4:30, so anytime during that range someone may be at the project site.
The short answer is no. We will keep you informed about the work schedule for your project as there will be times when an FHT team member is not at your home every day. There are a lot of moving parts that can influence the project schedule including phase of the project, labor availability, weather conditions, sub-contractor availability, materials delivery, change orders, material setting time, holidays, etc.
This is completely up to the customer depending on their comfort level. For about 90% of our projects, the homeowner is not there the entire time work is being done, as it is often not feasible. It is important there is communication regarding how we will access the project site during the construction phase. This could be a garage code, a door keypad code, a key, or another way to access the project site area. We make sure the house is secure before we leave for the day.
Yes, a Farha HomeTrends team member will meet subcontractors scheduled for the project to give them access and guidance to the project site. We thoroughly vet our subcontractors and consider them part of the FHT team. We value the long and successful partnerships with all our subcontractors.
We understand that your pets are part of your family as we are also pet owners, but for their safety and comfort, as well as the safety of our workers, we recommend that pets be kept in a separate area away from the work zone during the remodeling process. Construction activities can be noisy and involve unfamiliar people and movements, which can be stressful for pets. Additionally, there may be materials or tools present that could pose a risk.
